Rules for Jim Henson Trophy AV Competition to take place on Saturday 9 March 2024 at 14:00.

The competition is for digitally produced Audio Visual sequences only.

Each entrant may enter up to ONE sequence. The duration of the entrant’s sequence must not exceed 8 minutes.  An entry form is required. Entries and Entry form must received by 16 February 2024. There is no charge.

Entries may be submitted via Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar, or sent by CD which should be indelibly labelled with title, author and running time. Formats accepted are .exe, .avi, .mp4.

The choice of subjects is open with no special categories for entries. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse to accept any entry which they consider, in their absolute discretion, to be undesirable or unsuitable for the Competition. The entrant will be notified of this.

The production must be the original work of the entrant and his/her declared co-authors and collaborators.

Any use of third party images, animated graphics, video clips or other visual material should be appropriate to the production.

In accordance with established copyright regulations, sequences presented at the Competition should be free of all third party rights of ownership, unless licensed or permission is given. By participating in the Competition applicants indemnify the organisers against all and any action which may be taken against them by owners of copyrights. The organisers will accept no responsibility in the case of dispute or litigation.

The judge appointed by the AV Competition Committee will decide the winners – First, Second and Third, with Highly Commended or Commended being awarded at the Judges’ discretion. The decision of the judge will be final and binding.

If the predicted running time of the entries exceeds the available time for the competition, the AV Competition Committee reserve the right to pre-select.

Sequences will be copied to the Hard Drive for projection but will be erased after the Competition.

The submission of an entry implies the acceptance of these rules and permission for the sequence to be shown in public at this competition only.
