“The Greater Picture” – Tom Way

Tom Way is a renowned British fine art wildlife photographer, celebrated for his compelling black-and-white portraits of Africa’s large mammals. His work has garnered international acclaim, earning accolades in prestigious competitions such as the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Sony World Photography Awards.

Tom’s photographic journey has led him to diverse locations worldwide, capturing images of penguins in the Falklands, orangutans in Borneo, blue whales in Sri Lanka, and Africa’s iconic Big Five. He also emphasises the rich wildlife found closer to home in the UK, photographing subjects like deer, hedgehogs, owls, and foxes.

Beyond his photography, Tom is an engaging speaker, sharing his experiences and insights through various talks and presentations. He offers a range of talks tailored to different audiences, discussing his adventures and the techniques he employs to capture evocative wildlife imagery.
Tom’s dedication to his craft and ability to connect with audiences have solidified his reputation as a leading figure in fine-art wildlife photography.

This presentation gives a broad overview of Tom’s life as a fine-art wildlife photographer. He will demonstrate the various camera settings used to create his preferred style while speaking about the components that he feels are essential in creating evocative wildlife imagery. Tom will outline the importance of print while also speaking about how he creates a viable business through photography. This talk title is regularly updated with the latest imagery, so the talk changes from year to year.
