Competition Rules

Entrant: All authors and any co-authors must be current members of a PAGB member club

Entries: A maximum of one AV per author may be entered. The choice of subjects is Open or Photo Harmony.

Entries should normally be in a ‘stand-alone’ format which does not require any additional ‘player’ on the PC used to project the AVs. Video files may be entered and will be played on ‘VLC media player’. Entries may be submitted via Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar, or sent by CD/Memory stick/SD Card (return of these items will be at the cost of the entrant ). They should be indelibly labelled with title, author and running time. Formats accepted are .mp4  .exe  .avi.

Copyright: In accordance with established copyright regulations, sequences presented at the Competition should be free of all third-party rights of ownership, unless licensed or permission is given. By participating in the Competition, applicants indemnify the organisers against all and any action which may be taken against them by owners of copyrights. The organisers will accept no responsibility in the case of dispute or litigation. If copyright music is used, the entrant must quote their IAC license number.

Projection of Entries: A digital projector with a resolution of 1920px * 1080px, a PC computer and sound system will be provided. All entries will be downloaded on to the computer’s hard drive for projection and will be erased following the event.

Entry Form:     An entry form must be completed by each entrant and submitted to marjoramhb@gmail.com

Photographs: It is expected that all photographs used in the AV will have been taken or produced by the author(s), unless the subject matter requires images which, for historical or safety reasons, could not have been taken by the author (Images produced by AI could fit within this category). Any video clips, animated graphics or other visual material should be appropriate to the production.

The duration of your AV must not exceed 12 minutes.

 Conditions of Entry

The submission of an entry implies the acceptance of these rules and permission for the sequence to be shown in public at this competition only.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse to accept any entry which they consider, in their absolute discretion, to be undesirable or unsuitable for the Competition. The entrant will be notified of this.

If the predicted running time of the entries exceeds the available time for the competition, the AV Competition Committee reserve the right to pre-select.

Judging

The judge appointed by the AV Competition Committee will decide the winners – First, Second and Third, with Highly Commended or Commended being awarded at the Judges’ discretion. The decision of the judge will be final and binding.
